Joel Selwood
Joel Selwood. I can't recall a more courageous and tough footballer who chases the ball without fear for personal safety and wellbeing. His efforts against St.Kilda highlighted all that's great about AFL football (courage, sacrifice, commitment) while demonstrating the dangers facing the players every time they step onto the field. Geelong may have lost Gary Ablett to the Gold Coast and as a Geelong fan, that was devastating. But on balance the retention of Joel Selwood was a more important development for the long-term future of the club. We look forward to the Number 14 for the Cats getting back on the park very soon.
